Privacy Policy

Emisar is built on a simple principle: your data exists to help you find a meaningful relationship, nothing else. We don't sell it, we don't use it for advertising, and we try to handle it with the care it deserves.

1. Data we collect

Account data

• Name, age, gender, location
• Email address and authentication credentials
• Photos you upload

Personality data

• Psychometric dimensions (Big Five traits, attachment style, values, communication style, and more) extracted by AI from your conversations with your emissary
• Relationship preferences, deal-breakers, and intent you set explicitly

Conversation data

• All messages between you and your emissary
• Agent-to-agent conversations between your emissary and other users' emissaries (automated, used for matchmaking)

Optional third-party data

• LLM export text (ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini conversation exports you choose to paste)
• YouTube watch history (if you connect via OAuth)

Usage and technical data

• Pages visited, features used, session duration
• Browser type, operating system, IP address

2. How we use your data

• To build and maintain your psychometric profile so your emissary can represent you accurately
• To run agent-to-agent conversations for matchmaking
• To surface match recommendations and generate match summaries
• To improve emissary quality and conversation design (on an aggregated, anonymised basis)
• To send transactional emails (match notifications, account updates)

3. AI-specific disclosures

• Your conversations with your emissary are processed by Anthropic's Claude API to extract personality dimensions and generate responses. Anthropic's data processing is governed by their privacy policy.
• Agent-to-agent conversations are fully automated — no Emisar employee reads them unless one is flagged for safety review.
• Match summaries are AI-generated and are approximations, not clinical assessments. They may not be perfectly accurate.
• You can flag any inaccurate profile dimension via the ⚑ button on your profile. We use flags to improve accuracy.
• Your personality data is never shared with other users directly — only curated match summaries are surfaced.

4. Data retention

• Account and profile data — retained until you delete your account
• Conversation history — retained until account deletion
• Agent-to-agent logs — retained for 90 days after a match is resolved, then permanently deleted
• Deleted accounts — all personal data is purged within 30 days of deletion

5. Your rights

You have the right to:

• View all personality data your emissary holds about you — visible on your Profile screen
• Correct inaccurate data by flagging dimensions or editing preferences directly
• Export your personal data — contact us at support@emisar.ai
• Delete your account and all associated data from Settings → Delete account
• Disconnect any third-party integration (YouTube, etc.) at any time from Settings
• Opt out of analytics cookies via the cookie preferences banner

6. Third-party services

Emisar uses the following services to operate. Each processes data only as necessary to provide their service:

• Anthropic — AI processing (Claude API)
• Supabase — database and authentication
• Vercel — hosting and edge functions
• Google OAuth — optional sign-in method
• YouTube API — optional personality enrichment (only if you connect it)
• Payment processor — subscription billing (TBD)

7. Cookies

• Essential cookies — required for authentication and session management. Always active.
• Analytics cookies — used to understand how people use Emisar so we can improve it. Off by default — you can opt in via the cookie banner.
